NUIM Gamessoc big yearly event is on the 12-14th November. For all the years of my undergrad I was on the committee in some degree, but since my graduation I decided to step back from the organising aspect. I was never that good at it to be honest, beyond throwing together console tournaments and conscripting soc members to be staff.
Instead, I decided to devote my Dominicon energy to RPGs. I used to this in conjunction with other duties, but now I just run multiple scenarios. I started with one, then two the following year, then three.
This year, it’ll be three again, but one of them will be the three table.
Starting in 2007, the three-table at Dominicon has become an annual tradition. One plot, three tables of six players each. The three tables have a separate adventure within the same game, with each party heading towards the same destination. At the conclusion, they meet in the middle and duke it out.
In 07, it was a zombie themed, d20 modern based game, run by Hircarnil, a friend of mine. Three groups of survivors, in the middle of a zombie apocalypse trying to escape an infected city. I GMed one of the tables and fell in love with the idea. The next year, I ran the thing, a Firefly Cortex system game called The Battle of Sturges. A group of Browncoats, Alliance and Mercs, all trying to fight through a vicious battlefield to get a horde of treasure in the middle. Last year, it was an Old Republic Star Wars scenario set during the Mandolorian Wars.
This year, I’m up again for GMing. This time, I’m using an original setting, that I came up with myself with no help from anyone else*. I’m calling it “Wartime”. Simply put, it’s something akin to a Modern Warfare RPG. I think the setting has great potential for an RPG universe and future campaigns and Dominicon will be a good place to test it. It’ll be a battlefield type scenario with a common goal for my three groups of warriors.
More info to come as its written up. I’ll also probably be running a table of my latest Firefly game that I have talked about already.
Aside from that, I have one other idea for a game, one that I have been kicking around for a while now. I won’t say much, but it involves Irish History, Time Travel and a certain blue police box…
*This is a lie.
Gallifrey?
Isn’t that in Ireland?
I know this web page gives quality based content and additional data, is there any other web page which offers these kinds of things in
