The New York Times have made the story that Afghanistan has large lithium deposits into some sort of gigantic scoop.
But of course, everyone involved in the country knew about the deposits, which may not be as large as the NYT is making out, years ago.
The NYT is hardly a bastion of journalistic integrity. The behavior of some of its key writers in the run up to the Iraq War shows that. But this is just freaking stupid. Who approved this story? More importantly, do they still have a job?
